Forest Carnes

As a college student pursuing a BFA in Arts Practices at the University of Colorado at Boulder, I strive to combine elements of the romantic and surreal to form visual dreamscapes through self portraiture and digital collage. The element of the self portrait in my work allows me to place myself, a queer, trans poc, into scenes reminiscent of 18th century neoclassical art works which romanticise euro-centric, white feminine beauty.
